Empowering Impact Entrepreneurs and Professionals for Climate-smart Inclusive Economic Development
The terms “Impact Enterprise and Impact entrepreneur” (IEs) capture a multitude of companies, organizations and individuals who use business strategies and leverage market forces to create positive societal impact and thus the drivers of climate-smart and inclusive economic development.
These may be start-up tech entrepreneurs, for-profit small businesses in any community or intrapreneurs spearheading efforts with societal impact inside large corporations or government or charities with entrepreneurial mindset and income generating strategies. They may be for-profit or nonprofit. They may operate in any legal form and in any sector of the economy.
PURPOSE OF IMPACT MAP. This plurality of practice can be confusing and can make it difficult for impact entrepreneurs to identify likeminded partners and potential collaborators and can undermine the effectiveness of enabling policy efforts and those providing support and resources to IEs.
ImpactMap aims to empower impact entrepreneurs and all those interested in supporting them or collaborating with them to magnify their impact through efficient access to relevant information and analytics about the ecosystem of climate-smart inclusive economic development. Impact entrepreneurs and professionals are often too busy juggling multiple responsibilities along with their social and environmental impact oriented efforts; and often miss out on funding, networking, collaboration or job opportunities, just to mention a few.
Through ImpactMap there is an inherent opportunity to make all stakeholders better off, improve the efficiency and efficacy of the ecosystem, and ultimately magnify its collective impact, through intentional data collection, information sharing, analysis and strategic communications.
The ImpactMap Survey is the vehicle through which IEs are visually displayed on the ImpactMap. The survey questions are carefully tailored to IEs, allowing survey participants to holistically describe their impact to ImpactMap users.
