Origin: It Began with the Climate Extremes Forum

In the Fall of 2015, leading up to COP21 in Paris, the Hunt Institute for Engineering & Humanity, in partnership with the Embassy of France, City of Dallas and other partners, convened Climate Extremes: A Forum for Adaptation & Building Resilience in Texas.  The Forum focused on the intersection of climate change and economic inclusion with Mayor Mike Rawlings launching the event and with speakers from the private, public and nonprofit sectors.  The Forum was sold out with over 300 participants, who were calling for the continuation of the dialogue and convening.  With that the idea idea of the Consortium was born.
